JOB DESCRIPTION

• Our client is a locally owned and highly respected engineering company in Austin that is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer PE / PM with HVAC and/or plumbing design experience to their growing team.
• This is a full‑time, direct hire position at an outstanding company in a great location with generous compensation, benefits, bonus/401K, and PTO programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Calculate, design, and generate AutoCAD and/or Revit files and construction documents to support MEP engineering needs for a variety of building types (commercial office, K-12 schools, municipal buildings, healthcareamily, etc.), especially in the area of HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
• Project‑management responsibilities on both small and large projects, establishing schedules, assigning resources, monitoring performance, and keeping project on time and on budget.
• Maintain and organize all mechanical engineering related schedules, along with any associated general project documents.
• Provide review of mechanical design submittals and go into the field as needed to address any issues, conflicts, questions that may arise.
• Generate and present project status updates as needed to a variety of internal and external audiences.
• Work toward developing new business with existing and new clients through building relationships.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Hiring Companies ATS Questions)

1. Do you have a Mechanical Engineer degree with a PE license (Professional Engineer)?
2. Do you have experience with HVAC and/or plumbing design work on project types that include Commercial office, multifamily, K-12 schools, municipal buildings, healthcare, etc.?
3. Do you have experience with Revit as the main CAD system required?
4. Do you have AutoCAD experience?
5. Do you have Project management experience? (Nice to have)
6. Do you have experienced user of Revit, AutoCAD is less desirable. (Nice to have)
7. Do you have experience with HVAC modeling programs such as TRACE700, CHVAC7.0, and/or AIRMaster? (Nice to have)
