Job summary

CED Technologies, Inc. is seeking a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer in Annapolis, MD, to perform comprehensive forensic investigations, including vehicle accidents and losses.

The role involves occasional travel by day or overnight, applying engineering principles to support litigation and client outcomes. The candidate should have a PE license, 3–5 years in mechanical engineering, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• B.S. and/or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience.

• Advanced degrees (MS/PhD) are a plus.

CED Technologies Inc., Annapolis, Maryland, is currently looking for a licensed professional Mechanical Engineer who performs investigations from vehicle accident reconstruction, water loss cause of origin, workplace safety, product liability and beyond in a friendly, cultured environment. This is a salaried position; the annual salary is $85,000 - $125,000 depending on the level of experience. The individual who fills the position is eligible for a quarterly Engineering Incentive plan and an annual discretionary bonus based on the company and the individual’s performance.

Job Description:

The Mechanical Engineer will provide comprehensive disciplined engineering experience and perform in-depth forensic investigations such as vehicle accidents. The ideal candidate must be willing to occasionally travel on a day or overnight basis to investigate accidents. The engineer applies their engineering principles and helps their clients successfully resolve a loss or any litigation requirements. This position is well suited for an individual who is motivated and a self-starter who likes working independently and not at a desk and on occasion also enjoys working outdoors.

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. and or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
• Professional Engineering (P.E) license.
• Advanced educational degrees such as a master’s or Ph.D. are a plus.
• You must be willing to travel on a day or overnight basis to conduct investigations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to efficiently complete detailed work.
• Exhibits effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver timely work based on client needs.
• Collaborative and friendly with the ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Vehicular accident reconstruction (ACTAR certification is a plus)
• Fire investigation experience and/or certification is a plus.
• Incident investigation is a plus.
• Expert witness experience is a big plus.
