Job summary

Sonoco’s Co-op program offers undergrad and graduate students a hands-on manufacturing and packaging experience in Columbus, Ohio, with paid 12-week assignments, plant tours, and leadership engagement.

Participants gain real-time feedback, networking opportunities, and exposure across Sonoco’s enterprise, including housing and activity stipends and relocation assistance where applicable.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program with a concentration in Mechanical Engineering.
• Previous Co-op experience (preferably in Manufacturing or functional area).
• Proven leadership experience.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in hands-on projects alongside industry experts in manufacturing and packaging.
• Engage with Sonoco leadership and mentors for feedback and networking.
• Collaborate across disciplines in areas such as manufacturing, process engineering, quality, safety, commercial/sales, finance/accounting, and supply chain management.
