Job summary

Sonoco’s Co‑op program in Canton, Ohio offers hands-on learning in the manufacturing and packaging industries within the Consumer Packaging Division. You will work on real projects alongside industry experts and gain exposure to Sonoco leadership and enterprise knowledge.

The program provides a paid 12‑week experience with housing and activity stipends, relocation assistance, and opportunities to network with other Co‑ops and emerging leaders as you prepare for your next career step.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program with a concentration in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Previous Co‑op experience (preferably in Manufacturing or a functional area).
• Proven leadership experience.
• Technical aptitude.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in hands-on projects alongside industry experts.
• Engage with Sonoco leadership and network with other Co‑ops, Interns, and Emerging Leader associates.
• Collaborate across manufacturing, process engineering, quality, safety, and other functions.
