Job summary

Preformed Line Products in Mayfield Village, OH is seeking an Engineering Co-op for Spring 2027. This temporary full-time position provides hands-on experience under engineering mentors, focusing on laboratory testing and product development.

As a Sophomore Co-op, you will conduct tests and write reports; as a Junior Co-op, you will plan test procedures and assist in developing prototypes; as a Senior Co-op, you will support product development and testing alongside engineers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required and a minimum of one year completed toward a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Sophomore level responsibilities with no experience required; junior/senior years build experience.
• Computer literate, including working knowledge of spreadsheets and computer software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical, electrical, fiber optic, environmental, and vibration testing according to PLP ISO procedures, including writing summary reports on testing conducted. Analysis of data as required.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on test equipment.
• Other items incidental to the functioning of PLP’s Lab Operations.
• Plan and write test procedures; coordinate testing with lab personnel, witness and assist with testing; make verbal and written reports with appropriate recommendations to product engineers.
• Have a working knowledge of PLP products; assist in developing prototypes and tooling manufacturing processes.
