Job summary

Wiley|Wilson seeks a Mechanical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Lynchburg, VA to design HVAC and mechanical systems under licensed engineers. You will develop plans, perform calculations, apply codes, and prepare technical docs across project phases.

You’ll gain field exposure, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and build toward PE licensure while benefiting from ESOP ownership and flexible work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam passed by the start date.
• Revit experience and ability to apply engineering concepts to building systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical plans and designs, and perform engineering calculations.
• Apply relevant codes and standards and prepare technical documentation.
• Assist with field investigations and testing to understand installation and operation of systems.
• Collaborate with architects and civil, structural, electrical engineers to fit mechanical systems into building design.
