Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Design Coordinator to lead mechanical design for commercial and institutional projects in Boise, Idaho. You will develop HVAC loads, energy analyses and equipment selections, preparing robust construction documents and specifications.

The role requires a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, strong computer skills, and a proactive, employee-owned mindset. Experience with a design firm and LEED interest are a plus. This is a full-time, on-site position in Boise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE or similar software) are required.
• Attitude and commitment to employee-owned culture are essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects.
• Perform routine mechanical engineering assignments.
• Write and edit mechanical specifications; select mechanical systems and devices.
• Use engineering software to develop HVAC loads, energy analysis and equipment selections.
• Prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design, including drawings, specs and reports.
• Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects.
• Supervise Mechanical CAD Technicians and coordinate with architectural staff and other disciplines.
• Take responsibility for construction contract administration, field inspections and conflict resolution.
