EPITEC is seeking an entry-level CAD/drafting professional in Rapid City, SD to develop technical experience within a manufacturing and engineering environment. The role involves creating and revising mechanical drawings, gaining hands-on exposure to 3D modeling, and collaborating with engineers to meet quality standards.

The ideal candidate has about 2 years of CAD/drafting experience or related internships and holds an associate or 2-year technical degree in CAD or drafting.

Formación

• Approximately 2 years of CAD/drafting experience preferred.
• Associate degree or 2-year technical degree in CAD, Mechanical Drafting, Design Technology, or related field.
• Academic, internship, or early-career experience with mechanical components, equipment, manufacturing, or engineering drawings is relevant.

Responsabilidades

• Create and update mechanical drawings per engineering standards and specifications.
• Collaborate with project leads and engineers to review scope, priorities, drawing requirements, and deadlines.
• Apply drafting, 3D modeling, and GD&T practices to document manufacturing and assembly requirements.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot technical and drawing-related issues with the engineering team.
• Complete assigned projects within established schedules and expectations.
• Build knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering practices while taking on increasingly complex assignments.

Details: 24-month contract with ongoing need, opportunity for direct hire, fully onsite role

Pay Rate: $20.00 - 23.10/hr. based on benefit inclusions

Job Summary

This position is a great entry-level opportunity for a CAD or mechanical drafting professional looking to build technical experience and advance within an engineering and manufacturing environment. This role supports product quality through the creation and revision of mechanical drawings while providing hands-on exposure to 3D modeling, manufacturing practices, engineering standards, and cross-functional collaboration.

Years Of Experience And Education

• Approximately 2 years of mechanical drafting or CAD experience preferred; relevant internship experience will be considered.
• Associate degree or 2-year technical degree in CAD, Mechanical Drafting, Design Technology, or a related field.
• Academic, internship, or early-career experience with mechanical components, equipment, manufacturing, or engineering drawings is relevant.

Skills Required

• Mechanical drafting experience, preferably involving equipment or mechanical components.
• Experience with 3D parametric CAD/modeling software such as PTC Creo, SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor; PTC Creo preferred.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Ability to create, interpret, and revise mechanical part and assembly drawings.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, OneNote, and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Willingness to learn and develop toward greater technical responsibility and advancement.
