Diversified-Services-Network is seeking a Mechanical Drafter for an onsite role in Rapid City, SD. You will develop and update manufacturing drawings, ensuring alignment with engineering guidance and project timelines.

The position emphasizes collaboration with project engineers and peers in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have a CAD degree and 2+ years of drafting experience, with proficiency in GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and experience in 3D parametric modeling tools.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree in CAD.
• 2+ years mechanical drafting experience, preferably with equipment-based components.
• Proficiency in GD&T per ASME Y14.5 on drawings.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily with the project team leader to review project scope, status, and deadlines.
• Create and update part and assembly drawings in accordance with engineering guidance, standards, and specifications.
• Interface with project engineers to resolve questions related to project scope requirements.
• Complete projects on time and in alignment with project engineer expectations.
• Share best practices and troubleshoot problems with team members.

Position Overview

The Mechanical Drafter plays a key role in product quality by ensuring that manufacturing drawings contain all the information needed to successfully manufacture and assemble mechanical components. This onsite position works closely with project engineers and fellow drafters in a fast-paced, supportive environment that promotes peer collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Meet daily with the project team leader to review project scope, status, and deadlines
• Create and update part and assembly drawings in accordance with engineering guidance, standards, and specifications
• Interface with project engineers to resolve questions related to project scope requirements
• Complete projects on time and in alignment with project engineer expectations
• Share best practices and troubleshoot problems with team members

Requirements

Education & Experience

• 2-year technical degree in CAD
• 2+ years of mechanical drafting experience, preferably with equipment-based mechanical components

Technical Skills

• Experience with 3D parametric modeling and drafting software (PTC Creo preferred; SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor also considered)
• Proficiency applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) on drawings, specifically per ASME Y14.5 standards
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, OneNote, etc.)
