Job summary

Autoliv United States is seeking a Mechanical Designer to design, develop, implement, and continuously improve tooling, fixtures, equipment, and automated systems for high-volume production.

You will lead equipment projects supporting production launches, capacity growth, safety improvements, and manufacturing innovation, delivering reliable, cost-effective tooling while reducing downtime and improving OEE and quality.

Qualifications

• 2-5+ years designing tooling, fixtures, or manufacturing equipment for high-volume production.
• Experience with CAD design and equipment troubleshooting.
• Preferred: automation, robotics, vision systems, automotive manufacturing.
• Hands-on shop floor experience troubleshooting processes.
• Exposure to: root cause solving (8D, 5 Why) and SPC; Lean / CI initiatives.
• Experience with automated assembly equipment; SOLIDWORKS/PDM familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing tooling, fixtures, equipment, and automated systems.
• Lead equipment and tooling projects supporting production, new product launches, capacity growth, safety improvements, and manufacturing innovation.
• Deliver safe, reliable, cost-effective tooling and equipment solutions.
• Support successful launch of fixtures, automation, and production equipment.
• Aim to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Provide complete CAD models, drawings, specifications, and validation records.
• Drive measurable improvements in OEE, cycle time, quality, and operator safety.
