Job summary

Panelmatic, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to create and review models and BOMs for power distribution equipment including Metal-Clad and Metal-Enclosed Switchgear and Panelboards.

You will convert electrical drawings into complete mechanical packages, support both engineering teams, and release purchase-ready BOMs. The role requires 1–3 years in sheet metal design and proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years' experience in sheet metal design
• Knowledge of typical mechanical design principles
• Experience creating 3D renderings and elevations from drawings
• Familiarity with ANSI, ASME, NEC and UL standards
• AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work in a multi-project multitask environment with changing priorities
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• US work authorization without sponsorship required
• Growth mindset with ability to take on challenges
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four+ hours

Responsibilities

• Review electrical diagrams and requirements from electrical engineering
• Convert electrical drawings into a mechanical package including elevations and BOM
• Provide mechanical components of drawing package to electrical engineering
• Release BOM for purchasing and fabrication
• Support mechanical engineering with drafting and modeling
• Assist manufacturing with project questions and issues
• Interact with electrical engineering and project management as required
• Communicate job status and issues with supervisor
