Job summary
SSOE Group seeks a Mechanical Designer with Plumbing and Fire Protection expertise to support Biomedical, Education, Aviation, and Healthcare projects. You will design and coordinate piping systems and implement 3D Revit models within a multidisciplinary team.
The role is hybrid, requiring in-office presence in Atlanta, GA three days a week, with opportunities for ownership at the Associate level and a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and professional development.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering/architectural fields preferred.
- Minimum ten years designer experience with piping and fire protection.
- Experience with piping systems including medical gas and compressed air.
- Fire protection design experience (wet/dry/clean agent).
- Certified Plumbing Designer preferred.
- REVIT proficiency required.
- AutoCAD experience required; Navisworks or PIPE-FLO a plus.
- Knowledge of ACC and relevant codes standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical design and 3D Revit support for multiple projects.
- Coordinate with engineers, PMs, clients and other disciplines.
- Design and finalize piping systems including plumbing and fire protection.
- Assist field crews and respond to design issues during construction.
- Review submittals for conformance with contract documents.
