Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in Piping and HVAC Design to shape advanced automotive and manufacturing facilities. You will deliver HVAC, piping, and fire protection designs, lead technical analyses, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet client expectations.

The role requires PE-tracked or equivalent, 12+ years of relevant experience, and strong software skills with AutoCAD/REVIT/MicroStation. Travel is anticipated.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; PE tracked preferred and 12+ years of related experience.
• Experience sizing HVAC equipment, ductwork, hydronic piping systems, and plumbing systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, REVIT, and MicroStation; MS Office.
• Excellent communication, ability to work independently and in teams; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provides engineering and 3D REVIT support for HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire protection projects.
• Performs HVAC load calculations, duct static pressure, and pump head calculations.
• Develops engineering concepts, presentations, and project documentation.
• Coordinates work with other disciplines and reviews drawings for quality and compliance.
• Meets with clients to define scope, present progress, and ensure client satisfaction.
• Travel to project sites as required.
