Job summary

Molex is seeking several Mechanical Designers to join our R&D team at our Corporate HQ in Lisle, IL. The Optical Connectivity Group designs cutting-edge fiber optic solutions for data centers and telecoms, with a focus on manufacturability and compliance.

You will translate designs into detailed 3D models and drawings, collaborate with product managers, and lead design reviews across cross-functional teams to ensure feasible, compliant, and innovative products.

Qualifications

• 2 year Associate Degree or higher in Mechanical Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience creating complex 3D models, drawings and aesthetic designs for molded products.
• Proficiency in parametric modeling (preferably NX).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate with stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Translate designs and specifications into detailed 3D models, drawings and specs.
• Collaborate with product managers to ensure designs meet market requirements.
• Conduct design reviews and implement feedback to improve products.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability.
• Ensure designs comply with safety and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing to address design issues.
