Job summary

LJA Energy is seeking a Designer II - Mechanical to create mechanical, structural, and piping concepts for liquid terminals and oil and gas infrastructure using 2-D and 3-D CAD. You will model, detail, document, and verify systems while meeting quality standards and deadlines.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years’ related design experience, strong CAD skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineers in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical training in mechanical engineering or CAD.
• 3–5 years designing mechanical, structural, piping or related systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook; strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with CAD tools listed above is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create mechanical, structural, and piping designs for oil and gas infra.
• Model, detail, document, and verify components and systems.
• Generate 3-D models showing component relationships with tolerances.
• Ensure drawings meet department and company quality standards.
• Analyze proposed changes for fit and interference and suggest solutions.
• Coordinate with engineers to resolve design issues and modify drawings.
• Prepare Bills of Material and support project work with CAD data.
