Job summary

LJA Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Designer II – Mechanical to develop mechanical, structural, and piping concepts for liquid terminals and related oil and gas infrastructure using CAD tools. You will model, detail, document, and verify systems while adhering to quality standards and deadlines.

The role requires organization, technical strength, and teamwork, with opportunities to grow through hands-on experience on diverse projects for a broad client base.

Qualifications

• Strong creative ability to design and develop mechanical, structural, and piping systems.
• Proficient with 2‑D and 3‑D CAD; able to model, detail, and document.
• Good organizational and planning skills; able to meet deadlines.
• Experience in oil and gas infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create mechanical, structural, and piping conceptual designs for liquid terminals and related oil and gas infrastructure.
• Model, detail, document, and verify mechanical, structural, piping, and related systems.
• Create 3‑D models showing component relationships with dimensions and tolerances.
• Ensure drawings meet quality standards and project deadlines.
• Coordinate with engineers to resolve design issues and assess fit/interference.
• Prepare Bills of Material and support project documentation.
