Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Plymouth, MN, is seeking a Mechanical Designer II to design components and improve products using Pro/E/Creo and CAD tools. You will coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and planning teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with standards.

The ideal candidate has a technical or associate degree in mechanical drafting/design, 2+ years in Pro/E/Creo (including Creo 10.0), and the ability to produce parametric drawings. U.S.

Qualifications

• Technical or Associate's Degree in Mechanical Drafting/Design.
• Two years minimum Pro/E / Creo experience with a minimum of 1 year utilizing Pro/E / Creo 10.0.
• Ability to model fully defined components and assemblies efficiently using Pro/E / Creo 10.0.
• Ability to create/update parametric drawings in conformance with Northrop Grumman, Industry and DEVCOM Armaments Center 3D modeling standards.
• Microsoft Office experience.
• Must be a US Citizen
• Ability to obtain a secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Accept work direction from other drafters/designers, engineers and manager on assigned project.

Northrop Grumman's Business Unit , Armament Systems, is seeking a Mechanical Designer II for our location in Plymouth, MN .

Armament Systems specializes in the development and production of Ammunition, Guns and Precision Guidance Ordinance.

Position Summary

Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or Creo. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications. Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments.

Mechanical CAD Responsibilities

• Accept work direction from other drafters/designers, engineers and manager on assigned project.
• Mechanical modeling utilizing Pro/E / Creo10.0
• Create/update parametric drawings in conformance with Northrop Grumman, Industry and DEVCOM Armaments Center 3D modeling standards.

Required Skills

Primary Level Salary Range

$58,300.00 - $97,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
