Job summary

DBR is hiring a Mechanical Designer I in Houston. The role provides design assistance on projects, coordinates with BIM staff, and ensures deliverables meet DBR standards and schedules. Responsibilities include preliminary calculations, equipment sizing, and updating specifications.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Engineering or related fields, or a technical/associate with experience, or a high school diploma with related work history. Strong drafting skills in Revit/AutoCAD are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide design assistance on selected projects and work with designers and BIM staff to deliver a quality product on schedule.
• Learn and apply DBR design standards per design manual and PAL guidance.
• Provide schematic design information such as preliminary calculations, equipment sizing, and cut sheets.
• Edit specifications and incorporate design concepts from schematic design into development drawings.
• Organize and maintain project files and ensure drawings meet company standards.
• Communicate workload status to Project Manager or Mentor and meet deadlines.
