Job summary

The Toro Company in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Mechanical Designer to execute design phases for new product development and redesigns, including design responsibility and coordination with technicians and suppliers.

You will develop documentation, support cost improvement, and ensure quality, durability, and manufacturability while meeting safety standards. This role requires in-office presence with collaboration across teams and vendors.

Qualifications

• Associates in Drafting/Design, Mechanical Engineering Tech, or related (or equivalent experience).
• CAD fluent; ProE experience preferred.
• MS Teams fluent; able to collaborate across many levels and departments.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and create designs to satisfy product objectives.
• Perform feasibility studies as required.
• Assures the design specifications meet the overall approved specifications and performance objectives.
• Coordinate design work with the engineer and others; may coordinate drafters and vendors.
• Develop sketches, layouts, and analysis for assigned tasks.
• Ensure designed areas meet cost and timing targets of the product program.
• Research and propose materials and processes for designs.
