Job summary

Prairie Engineers, P.C. is actively seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team. You will develop mechanical and plumbing drawings and BIM models for national facilities, under the guidance of licensed engineers, with opportunities for career advancement.

You will turn markups into coordinated documents, coordinate with other disciplines, and assist with specifications, takeoffs, and cost estimates. Salary ranges from $56,000 to $85,000 per year based on education and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; technical certificate or associate's degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience producing mechanical and plumbing (including HVAC) drawings using AutoCAD.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and architectural drawings; working knowledge of HVAC and fire protection systems and relevant codes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office; Revit MEP proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical and plumbing drawings and Revit/BIM models for military and government facilities under licensed engineers.
• Turn markups and calculations into construction documents.
• Coordinate models with other disciplines; resolve clashes.
• Assist with specs, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
• Incorporate review comments, draft RFI responses, and prepare record drawings.
