Job summary

Welker in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to develop production-ready 3D models and detailed drawings for custom mechanical products, working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams.

You will produce BOMs, routing, and engineering documentation, ensure designs meet customer requirements and manufacturing standards, and help move concepts to production in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience creating mechanical designs and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and engineering documentation
• Interpret customer requirements, specifications, and engineering instructions
• Revise existing designs and drawings to support product improvements and custom applications
• Generate manufacturing-ready drawings with appropriate dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications
• Collaborate with engineers, machinists, assemblers, and sales teams to ensure designs are accurate and manufacturable
• Utilize ERP systems to release and maintain engineering data

About The Role
