Job summary

VoltaGrid is seeking a Mechanical Designer to create and organize mechanical designs for the Engineering team. The role may involve hands-on work, documentation, and collaboration with project managers.

Responsibilities include producing 3D designs, developing accurate schematics, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. A strong drafting background and experience with AutoCAD/Inventor are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in drafting, preferably with mechanical systems.
• 3+ years of industry-related experience or an associate degree in a technical field.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and related software.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing technologies and industry practices.

Position Title: MECHANICAL DESIGNER

Location: HOUSTON, TX

FLSA Class: EXEMPT

Responsible to: TEAM LEAD - DATA CENTER DESIGN

Position Summary: This position is primarily responsible for the creation, organization, and dissemination of mechanical designs as needed by the Engineering team. Duties can involve some hands-on work, and document writing.

Other Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in EPC organizations or construction-focused project environments.
• Experience with the installation, operation, or troubleshooting of industrial automation
• equipment.
• Extensive knowledge and proficiency with the company’s preferred software. (AutoCAD Electrical/Mechanical, Inventor and Revit) and the ability to learn new software quickly
• Ability to take direction from engineering team and work independently to design systems per
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
