Are you passionate about building engineering systems? Do you feel like you've hit a plateau or just have a desire to advance your career? We are seeking a Mechanical (HVAC, plumbing and/or fire protection) Designer with a strong focus and background in Building Projects to work in our Buffalo, NY office. This position will work closely with engineering staff to develop designs, drawings, specifications, and reports for buildings from conception to construction. The individual must be able to work independently, as well as part of multi-discipline teams producing electrical engineering documents that detail designs for the built environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with other engineers as part of a Project Team to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports
• Prepare design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD
• Laying out and sizing of ductwork, HVAC piping, plumbing piping and fire protection systems
• Performing load calculations
• Sizing of equipment
• Coordinating design with other trades
• Perform field investigations to document existing conditions
• Maintain a professional and positive work atmosphere
• Continuously improve knowledge of relevant technologies and trends

Qualifications

• Passion for building systems and a desire to become an expert in production systems and standards
• Associates Degree in CAD/Design, Engineering Technology, or related field (desired but not required)
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
• Experience with HVAC ductwork, piping, plumbing, and fire protection systems (plus)
• Familiarity with HVAC load calculation programs (plus)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects

Salary Range

$75,000 - $105,000 annually, influenced by experience, education, and location.
