Archer, headquartered in Silicon Valley, seeks a motor mechanical design lead on the Electric Propulsion Team to advance electric aviation technology. You will lead a mechanical design team focused on stator/rotor assemblies, weight and thermal performance, and manufacturability for high‑performance motors.

The role requires 7+ years in mechanical design of electric machines, 2+ years of leadership, NX CAD and GD&T mastery, and strong project management.

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in mechanical design of electric machines (motors/generators).
• 2+ years of direct people management or team leadership.
• Deep understanding of electric motor construction (lamination stacks, winding, insulation).
• Proven ability to manage engineering priorities and drive hardware development from concept to production.
• Expert-level 3D CAD (NX) and 2D drawing with GD&T.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a mechanical design team of engineers, mentoring and growing talent.
• Manage priorities, resources and schedules to meet milestones.
• Conduct 1:1s, performance reviews and professional development.
• Own deliverables for motor mechanical design during program reviews.
• Direct detailed mechanical design of stator and rotor assemblies with weight and thermal targets.
• Oversee design reviews, CAD models, drawings, GD&T, and specs.
• Guide CAE collaboration to define FEA strategies and validate thermal and durability targets.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to ensure DFM and aviation standards at scale.
