Job summary

Lab37 Robotics is seeking a hands-on mechanical engineering student to design and develop mechanical sub-components and test rigs for our robotics platform. You will create 3D CAD models, drawings, and assembly instructions while building and testing prototypes to iterate designs based on performance data.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues, and contribute to documentation and testing procedures.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Hands-on fabrication skills are highly valued.
• Interest in actuation, mechanisms and robotics is a plus.
• Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical teammates.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical sub-components and test rigs.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and assembly instructions.
• Build and test prototypes, analyze data and iterate designs.
• Use various manufacturing processes to optimize performance.
• Participate in design reviews and present concepts to stakeholders.
• Maintain project documentation and testing procedures.
