Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Mechanical Engineering intern to assist in the design, development and testing of mechanical hardware for Nordco equipment. You will use Creo to implement design improvements, update models and drawings, and collaborate with Production and other departments.

The role requires pursuing a BS in Engineering with a 3.0+ GPA and experience with mechanical design. Strong communication and adaptability are essential for this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
• GPA of 3.0+.
• General mechanical design skills.
• Experience with design software, Creo preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of Nordco’s equipment and related components.
• Use Creo to complete design improvement and corrective action projects.
• Update product models and drawings for other projects of various difficulties within the Engineering Department.
• Work closely with the Engineering Department to support Production and other manufacturing initiatives.
• Utilize basic computer software to develop or maintain spreadsheets, databases, documents, and to communicate with various departments within the organization.
• Acquire, plot, and analyse data with the assistance from a mentor.
• Build relationships with people within the organization to help complete tasks
• Other job duties as assigned.
