Job summary

AeroVironment, based in California, invites motivated students for its Summer Internship Program. You will work on mechanical design tasks, create CAD models in SolidWorks, and participate in prototype fabrication and testing.

The program is selective, offering roles across the U.S. and collaboration with AV engineers. Candidates pursuing a BS in ME or AE with hands-on project experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with machined parts, sheet metal, plastics or composites.
• Hands-on prototyping, lab testing, or mechanical assembly through school projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist design of mechanical components and systems (airframes, payload enclosures, launch systems).
• Create/modify 3D CAD models and assemblies in SolidWorks.
• Support simulations using SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS.
• Fabricate prototypes, assemble/test with in-house tools and rapid prototyping.
