General Job Summary

Provide guidance and oversight of the Mechanical Design Engineering Department in order to ensure compliance with current and future customer requirements in support of engineering strategic goals.

Job Description

This role oversees the Mechanical Design Engineering Department to meet engineering strategic goals and support customer requirements.

Essential Job Functions

• Responsible for planning and management of the Mechanical Design Engineering Department
• Responsible for working on, planning and execution of new and existing jobs that are assigned to the department
• Ensuring availability of adequate personnel and resources to perform contractually required efforts
• Providing input into overall departmental policies and procedures
• Meeting engineering schedules and budgets in coordination with program managers and operations
• Providing direction, guidance, training and coaching of engineering personnel
• Supporting quality, productivity, standardization and innovation in new product design
• Guiding, developing and training a team of Mechanical Design Engineers
• Reviewing and generating engineering drawings with design approval authority
• Providing BOE and schedule inputs for current and future jobs
• Responsible for overall design compliance of jobs assigned to the department

Education and Experience
