Lockheed Martin in Palmdale, CA, seeks a mechanical engineer to design and fab RF hardware, LO apertures, and RCS test fixtures. You will work closely with RF, M&P, and stress teams to deliver hardware from concept through test, balancing development and production efforts in a classified program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace/mechanical engineering or related STEM field.
• Working knowledge of CATIA V5 or 3DExperience CAD environments.
• Experience with detail part and assembly design in RF or aerospace contexts.
• Familiarity with GD&T and geometric tolerancing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and fabricate RF components, antennas, and RF test fixtures with cross‑functional teams.
• Collaborate with RF, M&P, stress, and EEE groups to deliver hardware from concept to test.
• Translate clean sheet ideas into practical, producible hardware under schedule pressure.

The Electromagnetics Hardware Design & Fab team supports the Signature Mgmt & Survivability Org by providing hardware design, fabrication, and testing of LO apertures and RCS test fixtures. This includes RFcomponents, antennas, radomes, support structures, composite/metallic component/structures, and full scaleRCS/RF test fixtures. The candidate is to work design and fab of hardware in mostly a research and developmentenvironment with some production efforts. The candidate could be deployed to ADP or production programs, withmostly in a classified program, supporting a mix of flight and non-flight hardware. The mechanical engineer worksclosely with electrical engineers in RF designs as well as other disciplines (M&P, stress, EEE) to produce novel RFand RCS solutions for platforms. The successful candidate is a strong mechanical engineer who can drivechallenging interdisciplinary problems from clean sheet design to fab, to test of hardware. Performing under tightschedules, the candidate needs to be a strong communicator and have strong project management skills.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or related STEM degree
• Working knowledge of CATIA V5, 3DExperience, and/or similar CAD experience
• Experience with detail part / assembly design.
• Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• The candidate is not expected to be an expert, but should have knowledge in the fields of technical designand fabrication of metallic/composites materials.
• Experience with design/integration of air vehicle platform(s) or aerospace components

Desired Skills

• Experience with mechanical design of Electromagnetic/RF components, electrical packaging, power systemlayout, and circuit board design
• General knowledge in fundamental EM theories
• Experience in design for additive manufacturing
• Experience managing various programmatics of projects (schedule, costs, procurement activity)

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $135700.00 - $251900.00

For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
