Job summary

Airloom Energy in Wyoming seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop parametric 3D models and detailed 2D drawings in SolidWorks, applying DFM and GD&T standards.

You will collaborate with mechanical systems engineers and manufacturing teams to translate concepts into production-ready parts, perform tolerance analyses, and manage top-level assemblies and BOMs in SolidWorks PDM.

This in-person role offers relocation assistance and opportunities to contribute to a bold clean-energy breakthrough.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field, CAD/Drafting tech degree acceptable with experience.
• 2–4 years of dedicated CAD modeling and drafting in hardware/manufacturing settings.
• Foundational GD&T knowledge and tolerance analysis experience.
• Exposure to SolidWorks PDM for data management and revision control.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D parametric models and 2D drawings for production.
• Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing to realize production-ready designs.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analyses to ensure fit and clearance.
• Manage top-level assemblies, dynamic clearances, and mass properties.
• Maintain BOMs and PDM data; support ECO/ECN workflows.
• Support DFM/DFA for CNC, sheet metal, welding, and prototyping.
