Job summary

Airloom Energy is hiring a senior mechanical engineer to advance the design of our wind-energy systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to create innovative concepts, perform analyses, and guide prototyping and testing.

We expect 7+ years in mechanical engineering, proficiency with SolidWorks, and experience transitioning designs to manufacturing. The role requires in-person work from our Laramie, WY location, with relocation assistance and no visa sponsorship available.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience required.
• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks).
• Experience in aerospace, automotive, or industrial sectors preferred.
• Deep understanding of materials, margins, and testing (FEA/CFD).
• Experience transitioning products from design into manufacturing at scale.
• Familiarity with aerospace/industrial standards and regulations (IEC, ASTM, ISO, ASME, SAE, FAA).
• Collaboration with manufacturing teams and cost-down opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual design of mechanical concepts with cross-functional teams.
• Perform structural, thermal, and fluid analyses to optimize performance.
• Oversee prototyping and testing of mechanical designs.
• Support manufacturing to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation and design specs.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance.
