Job summary

REEKON Tools is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Boston, MA. You will design integrated tools and devices, iterate rapidly from concept to prototype to test, and communicate designs clearly for strong cross-functional collaboration across electrical, embedded, and industrial teams.

Qualifications

• Expert CAD skills with Solidworks preferred.
• Experience designing for high-volume manufacturing (injection molding, die casting, metal forming).
• Ability to interpret inspection reports and provide actionable feedback.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience fabricating mechanical prototypes using shop tools, laser cutting, and 3D printing.
• Experience designing production equipment including fixtures and calibration jigs.
• Self-driven with high standards of performance and accountability.
• Ability to work across multiple product lines with autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Design integrated tools and devices based on high level product requirements and collaboration with adjacent electrical, embedded and industrial design engineers.
• Rapidly iterate from ideation to prototyping to testing of new tools and products.
• Communicate your designs to the team and collect actionable feedback for iteration.
• Devise and execute tests that validate design performance.
• Devise jigs / fixtures / equipment to test and debug systems.
• Maintain 3D CAD models and documentation of system architecture and components.
• Own and execute transition of products from engineering samples to full volume production.
• Execute documentation, drawings, and instructions for the NPI process.
• Manage communications with suppliers for prototype and production parts.
• Discover new vendors and suppliers based on evolving needs and product development.
• Oversee communication channels to ensure streamlined operations between internal and external groups.
