Job summary

Compotech is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (MDE) to transform complex requirements into manufacturable products. You will design, analyze, prototype, test, and validate mechanical systems, ensuring performance, cost, and schedule targets are met.

You will work with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and project management in a defense-oriented environment, contributing throughout the product lifecycle from concept to sustainment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field; MS is a plus.
• Experience with composite analysis, finite element modeling, and advanced mechanics of materials is desirable.
• Excellent communication and ability to manage multiple projects under deadlines.
• SolidWorks CAD skills; experience with complex assemblies and multi-body parts.

Responsibilities

• Plans, manages, executes, and reports on analysis, design, and testing for Compotech programs.
• Develops mechanical designs, 3D CAD models, drawings, and documentation for components and systems.
• Performs engineering calculations and finite element analyses to support design decisions.
• Supports prototype fabrication, testing, and validation.
• Collaborates with manufacturing to implement DFM and DFA principles.
