RFA Engineering is seeking an entry-level to experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our on-site engineering team at a world-class facility in Illinois.

You will develop 3D models and drawings, investigate failures and root causes, support prototype and production builds, and collaborate with manufacturing and validation teams to deliver robust, cost‑effective mechanical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawing creation; Creo preferred.
• Experience with mechanical design, product development, and engineering problem-solving.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, drawings, and test results.
• Strong communication and collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and validation teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate 3D models and drawings for mechanical systems.
• Investigate equipment failures and perform root cause analysis.
• Support prototype, pilot, and production builds with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and validation teams to improve product performance and cost.
• Create and modify engineering documentation and product structures using CAD tools.
