Job summary

Mestek Machinery is seeking a mechanical design engineer to drive new product development and sustaining engineering for HVAC ductwork solutions. You will create CAD models, detailed drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing instructions, while sourcing components and improving engineering processes.

The role requires ownership of projects spanning weeks to months, collaboration across disciplines, and hands-on design in a fast-paced environment. Located in Cedar Rapids area.

Qualifications

• Detailed understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and electro-hydraulic machines.
• Efficient CAD design for quick production.
• Ability to own projects from concept to manufacturing.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and life-cycle estimations.
• Source and qualify mechanical components and vendors.
• Identify performance issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Contribute to brainstorming sessions and critique designs.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and controls teams.

Responsibilities
