Job summary

Mestek Machinery, a leading designer and manufacturer of HVAC sheet metal ductwork solutions, seeks a mechanical design engineer to drive new product development, improvements, and sustaining engineering. You will design OEM systems, generate CAD models and BOMs, and work with a multi-disciplinary team.

You should be self-motivated, eager to learn, and capable of handling projects spanning weeks to months as well as rapid tasks.

Qualifications

• Detailed understanding of modern mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
• Experience with hydraulic systems and electro-hydraulic machines.
• Strong CAD design skills for rapid production.
• Ability to own and drive projects from concept to implementation.
• Experience with tolerance analysis and life-cycle estimations.
• Ability to source components and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Design OEM systems and components; create CAD models and drawings.
• Generate BOMs and manufacturing instructions.
• Source mechanical components and RFQs to vendors.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, software, controls).
• Identify performance issues and propose solutions.
