Kiewit Nuclear Solutions seeks experienced Mechanical Design Engineers to join our growing team in a dynamic nuclear market. This mid-level role requires strong background in design, codes, and collaboration across fabrication and construction groups to ensure safe, cost-effective engineering outcomes.

Base compensation ranges with full benefits and opportunities to work across Lenexa, KS and other North American locations. Hybrid work is considered with supervisor coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• 7–12+ years in commercial or DOE nuclear design preferred.
• FE/EIT recommended; PE license preferred.
• Proficient in ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel and piping codes.
• Skilled in GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and interference checks.
• Experience with equipment design and procurement using industry codes.
• Familiar with creating PFDs, P&IDs, and general arrangement drawings.
• Strong collaboration with engineers and fabricators.

Responsibilities

• Carry out integrated engineering processes to meet project goals and deadlines.
• Author and review designs, specifications, analyses, and drawings per engineering standards.
• Create and assess concept drawings for equipment using multidisciplinary input.
• Identify, define, and resolve issues within assigned scope.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and timely delivery.
• Occasional travel up to 20%.
