Job summary

WEG Electric Corp. in Minneapolis, Minnesota, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead high-level product design for motors, generators, and magnetic drives.

You will support orders from proposal through design, development, manufacturing, testing, and field service, working in a collaborative team environment. Qualifications include a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 2–3+ years in motor/generator design with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and ANSYS/CFX experience.

Qualifications

• BS Mechanical Engineering degree required; machine design emphasis preferred.
• 2–3+ years’ experience in design or development of large motors/generators.
• Proficient with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office products.
• Strong design background with mechanical and thermal analysis skills.
• Ability to collaborate with teams and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains design standards to govern mechanical design analysis.
• Manages project plans for product development to drive completion.
• Provides input to management for financial and capital planning.
• Leads or mentors engineers and drafters on project teams.
• Reviews specifications and offers technical advice at customer sites.
• Directs standardized models to reduce design cost and time.
• Provides technical support to other departments.
