Job summary

Dematic has an immediate need for a Mechanical Design Engineer in Grand Rapids, MI. The candidate should have 0–8 years of mechanical design experience and a strong background in material handling/automation, including familiarity with CET Configura and AutoCAD.

The role supports mechanical design for Amazon modernization/retrofit projects, with travel up to 20% to customer and Dematic locations. Base pay range is $90,400.00 – $135,600.00 with final compensation based on location, education,

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent required.
5–8 years of mechanical design experience preferred; 8+ years is a plus.
Proficiency in CET Configura and AutoCAD highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Own and execute mechanical engineering scope for assigned Amazon modernization/retrofit projects.
Ensure targets for quality, on-time delivery and cost are met; anticipate issues and address proactively.
Maintain up-to-date project logs and report on portfolio performance (delivery, budget, quality, risks).
Forecast monthly resource requirements across projects.
Design complex systems integrating hardware and software.
Handle material specifications and schematic preparation.
Identify productivity improvements and cost-reduction opportunities.
Transfer knowledge and train customers on system designs.
Communicate with customers to finalize system design.
