Job summary

Ocean Aero Inc. seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and optimize mechanical subsystems of surface and sub-surface autonomous ocean-going vessels.

The role focuses on marine robot assembly and performance in challenging marine environments. You will work with a team of engineers across Electrical, Software, and Field Test disciplines, reporting to the Director of Engineering, and contribute to documentation and testing activities.

Qualifications

• MS in Engineering or related field.
• Ability to think independently and provide creative design solutions.
• Team player with strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Maintain valid driver's license and personal vehicle insurance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
• Possess a valid Transportation Worker Identity Credential (TWIC) or pursue it.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Electrical, Software, and Field Test teams to mechanically design, assemble, and document vehicle subsystems.
• Develop and maintain testing fixtures for mechanical subsystems (pressure, fatigue, static load testing).
• Provide mechanical support for Testing and Fabrication Teams.
• Write quality, well-structured documentation.
