Job summary

NOARK Electric is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with LV switchgear design experience to join our team in North America. You will design and maintain LV switchgear, switchboards, and panelboards, ensuring compliance with UL/CSA/NOM directives, while driving cost reductions and performance improvements.

Responsibilities include supporting product development, providing technical support for promotions and after-sales, and coordinating with manufacturing at the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• 1–3 years in mechanical design of LV switchgear, switchboards, or panelboards.
• Ability to clarify technical issues during project execution and review specs and drawings.
• Familiar with UL891, UL1558, and UL67 standards.
• Experience with sheet metal processing and manufacturing.
• Proficient English communication, reading and writing.
• Strong teamwork, initiative, and problem-solving skills.

• Maintain and upgrade mechanical designs of LV switchgear, switchboards and panelboards; optimize structures, improve performance and reduce costs.
• Understand the product development and introduction plan; facilitate introduction and ongoing support at the designated plant.
• Provide technical support for promotion, authorization, production and after-sales internationally.
• Support LV Assembled Products design for customer projects; prepare quotes, single-line diagrams, and technical clarifications.
• Complete other work assigned by leadership and address temporary issues.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop low-voltage switchgear equipment that meets North America standards under UL, CSA and NOM directives; effectively controlling design risks;
• Manage, maintain, and upgrade mechanical designs of low-voltage switchgear, switchboards and panelboards currently in the market, optimizing product structures, improving product performance, and reducing product costs in response to market changes and needs;
• Understand the product development and product introduction plan and facilitate the introduction and ongoing support of the product(s) at the designated manufacturing plant..
• Provide technical support for the promotion, authorization, production and after-sales of low-voltage switchgear in the international market;
• Support the design of LV Assembled Products for customer projects, including quotation, primary single line diagram, technical clarification with customers, to ensure that the project plan is feasible, optimize the plan, save project costs, avoid project technical risks;
• Complete other work assigned by superior leadership and properly deal with temporary problems in the work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, Mechanical Engineering; Electrical Engineers with substantial mechanical design experience will be considered as equal.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in the mechanical design of LV Switchgear, Switchboards and/or Panelboards.
• Capable of clarifying technical issues during project execution, reviewing the correctness and integrity of technical specifications, agreements, and drawings, and identifying technical differences and pending issues;
• Familiar with relevant standards for low-voltage switchgear equipment, including UL891, UL1558 and UL67.
• Familiar with mechanical equipment manufacturing processes and sheet metal processing techniques, able to independently solve design/manufacturing issues;
• Skilled in using CAD, Office, and 3D software etc;
• Proficient in English communication, reading and writing;
• Work enthusiastically, proactively, with innovation, strong team awareness and responsibility, good communication and problem‑solving skills
