Job summary

Sensata in Attleboro, MA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to collaborate with local and global teams on product design that meets customer specifications. You will work on design, validation, documentation, and production release, completing drawings and roll-out activities in internal systems.

The role involves static and dynamic analysis, design verification, and coordination of failure investigations while applying solid mechanical engineering principles.

Qualifications

• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation.
• Strong organization, planning and time management to achieve results.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills with all levels including suppliers/customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with static, dynamic design and analysis of electro-mechanical components.
• Perform design verification by collecting empirical data and making design recommendations.
• Participate in feasibility studies and testing of new/modified designs; coordinate with technicians and drafting teams.
• Coordinate failure analysis investigations and engineering evaluations.
• Apply solid mechanical engineering principles across materials, mechanics, fluid, thermo and heat transfer.
