Job summary

Michaud Cooley Erickson is seeking a Designer/ Engineer in Training to learn the foundation of designing mechanical systems. This role involves working under the Project Manager to perform tasks, develop basic design calculations, and draft layouts for construction documents.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited university or college required.
• 0-2 years’ experience
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems
• Microsoft Office Suite experience

Responsibilities

• Develops the skills to perform basic design calculations.
• Follows design standards and production standards.
• Performs basic distribution layout and equipment sizing for commodity items.
• Completes floor plan layouts for system distribution.
• Coordinates space and clearance with other design partners.
• Produces basic schematic diagrams such as plumbing isometrics and electrical risers.
• Drafts existing conditions into design software and completes floor plans for construction documents.
• Performs site visits and drafts existing conditions into design software.
