Job summary

IGT in Austin, TX seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and analyze mechanical systems, equipment and packaging, and to perform feasibility studies, testing, and prototype fabrication. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams and provide design information to drafting for packaging documentation.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience (2 years related). Advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Mechanical Engineer designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment and packaging.
• Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
• Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.
• Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation.
• Exercises discretion and independent judgment in designing, developing, and testing mechanical components, parts, and assembly of product equipment, signage, and merchandising.
• Customarily and regularly develops solutions and performs prototype testing for product validation and design verification.
• Customarily and regularly creates and shares engineering data with cross-functional teams; including parts and assembly drawings, bills of material, and engineering change orders.
• Utilizes engineering principles and best practices in designing parts and assemblies for sheet metal fabrication, vacuum forming, injection molding, and machining.
• Actively works on multiple projects, coordinating design tasks and timelines with management.
• May act as a point of contact for vendors.
