Job summary

TAIT is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (MDE) to join the engineering team in Lititz, PA. You will own subsections of projects, develop innovative mechanical solutions for specialized machinery and rigging, and collaborate across project management, fabrication, and procurement to move from concept to opening night.

The role emphasizes 3D CAD modeling, design for manufacturability, and producing robust drawings for internal and vendor fabrication, while adhering to TAIT safety and QA

Qualifications

• BA/BS/BFA in technical theater, engineering, architecture, or industrial design.
• 5+ years of experience in a related technical field.
• 3D CAD modeling experience.
• Experience with overhead rigging design and custom machinery/structural design.
• Based in Lititz, PA TAIT headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to deliver innovative technical solutions.
• Plan and execute designs within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Apply TAIT design best practices for manufacturability and onsite assembly.
• Produce client-facing drawings as needed.
• Support fabrication, testing, and commissioning processes.
• Maintain project documentation and release drawings.
