Job summary

TAIT currently seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer (MDE) to drive project-based mechanical design work for specialized machinery, rigging systems and structures used in live entertainment technology. You will bridge junior and senior roles while collaborating across project management, fabrication, procurement and field teams from concept through opening night.

Ideal candidates have a BA/BS/BFA in a technical field and 5+ years of related experience, strong 3D CAD (Inventor preferred), and

Qualifications

• 3D CAD modeling experience
• Experience with live entertainment technology
• Ability to work in a project-based environment
• Cross-functional collaboration experience

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to develop technical solutions that meet objectives and exceed client expectations.
• Plan and execute technical work within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Apply TAIT design best practices for manufacturability and onsite assembly.
• Create robust 3D models and drawings to support design and fabrication.
• Produce client-facing drawing packages as needed and participate in client meetings.
• Coordinate with purchasing to identify long lead items and procurement needs.
• Maintain project documentation and issue controlled drawings and manuals.
• Release drawings for internal and vendor manufacturing.
