Job summary

TAIT is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Lititz, PA to own subsections of projects, developing machinery, structures, and rigging systems for entertainment technology. The role collaborates with project management, fabrication, procurement, and field teams from concept through opening night, applying TAIT design practices and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Required: BA/BS/BFA in a relevant field and 5+ years’ experience, plus strong 3D CAD modeling and rigging/machinery design

Qualifications

• BA/BS/BFA in technical theater, engineering, architecture, or industrial design.
• 5+ years of experience in a related technical field.
• 3D CAD modeling proficiency.
• Experience with overhead rigging design and/or custom machinery.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, project-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to develop innovative and effective technical solutions.
• Plan and execute technical solutions within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Apply TAIT design best practices for manufacturability, onsite assembly, and packaging.
• Identify and understand underlying physics of complex problems to create successful technical solutions.
• Produce client-facing drawings and participate in client meetings as needed.
• Efficiently generate robust and clean 3D models to support TAIT’s design process.
• Release assembly and part drawings to manufactured and subcontracted vendors.
