Job summary

UCT in Austin, TX is seeking a Design Engineer II- Mechanical to join a cross-functional team and advance product development from concept to drawings. You will generate layouts and detailed drawings, apply GD&T, and support manufacturing handoffs.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of design experience using SolidWorks and Pro/Engineer, proficiency in Creo and AutoCAD, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. On-site role with opportunities to impact multiple programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years designing components and systems.
• Experience with SolidWorks and Pro/Engineer is essential.
• Knowledge of manufacturability and GD&T is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Creates manufacturing drawings from 3-D CAD models.
• Understands drawing standards, formatting, and GD&T.
• Identifies materials, processes and specs for design.
• Prepares layouts/models and detailed drawings of parts.
• Optimizes BOM for manufacturability.
• Coordinates with cross-functional teams on design release.
