In this hands-on role, the Mechanical Design Engineer will collaborate with a talented team of designers and engineers to develop smart, efficient, and reliable solutions. Your insights and decisions will contribute to solving real-world challenges and pushing the boundaries of innovation. You'll help lead and guide the design team to meet both customer requirements and manufacturing goals. This is a great opportunity to apply your engineering judgment and technical expertise to moderately complex mechanical design challenges. You'll support analysis, testing, and integration of mechanical systems-with guidance from senior engineers.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers

  • Perform Engineering design calculations in support of product design requirements.

  • Communicate product design requirements to the Designer Team and approve drawings, models prepared by the Designer Team prior to release.

  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated

  • Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives including Cost Out and Standardization

  • Provide technical support to Manufacturing, Test, Aftermarket & Field Service, as required.

  • Share engineering information and promote open dialogue

  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures



Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Rotating Machinery, or related field).

  • 4+ years of years of experience in an engineering role of OEM equipment.

  • 3+ years of experience with with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other engineering tools.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.



Core Competencies:
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of engineering principles, CAD software, and industry standards.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve complex issues creatively and effectively.

  • Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects with strong organizational skills.

  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Adaptability and Innovation: Flexibility to adapt to changes, openness to new ideas, and drive for continuous improvement.



Preferences:
  • Rotating machinery design experience

  • Fluid systems design experience

  • Knowledgeable with Solidworks & ePDM, or equivalent

  • Basic AutoCAD 2D/3D and FEA knowledge

  • Experience with project management and lean manufacturing principles.

  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or other quality improvement methodologies.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.



Travel and Work Arrangements
  • This position is fully based onsite in Connersville, IN

  • Minimal anticipated travel (<10%)

  • US Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident
