Job summary

Sealevel Systems, located in Liberty, SC, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 5 years of experience to design industrial enclosures and mechanical assemblies from concept through production. The role combines CAD work, analysis, prototyping, and manufacturing support, coordinating with electrical, manufacturing, and suppliers.

The engineer will create SolidWorks models and detailed drawings, perform GD&T analysis, and drive designs for manufacturability and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is REQUIRED.
• 5 years of professional mechanical engineering or product design experience.
• Experience designing electronic enclosures, packaging, or mechanical assemblies for electronic equipment.
• Experience with SolidWorks.
• Demonstrated ability to take mechanical concepts from concept to production.
• Experience designing sheet metal and machined components and assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, enclosures, test fixtures, and assemblies from concept through production.
• Create SolidWorks 3D models and 2D drawings with tolerances, GD&T, and material specs.
• Package PCBs and thermal management components into enclosures meeting requirements.
• Perform tolerance stack-ups and material/finish selections using DFM/DFA.
• Contribute to design reviews and implement feedback for manufacturability.
• Design parts for sheet metal, CNC machining, injection molding, extrusion, and casting.
• Prototype, test, evaluate, and support manufacturing with issue resolution.
